The Delhi administration, led by Rekha Gupta, intends to present a generous incentive to individuals who purchase electric motorcycles. According to sources, under EV Policy 2.0, anyone purchasing an electric two-wheeler in the name of a woman will be eligible for a subsidy of up to Rs 36,000. That example, if you purchase an electric bike in the name of your sister, mother, or wife, you will be able to take advantage of the significant discount. However, it will initially only help the first 10,000 women.
The Delhi government is formulating a new policy to promote e-vehicles. According to sources, the first 10,000 women who purchase electric two-wheelers will receive a subsidy of up to Rs 36,000, provided they have a valid driver’s license. The program will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. That is, whomever comes first has the benefit. According to early information, the subsidy will be paid at a rate of Rs 12,000 per kilowatt-hour based on battery capacity (kilowatt-hour), with a maximum of Rs 36,000.

Rekha Gupta is focusing on women
The BJP government in Delhi has prioritized women since its inception. Whether it’s free cylinders, Rs 25,000 for pregnant women, housing, or Rs 2500 per month for all women, the BJP is banking on women. This new initiative has the potential to be a game changer for the BJP.

When will it take effect?
The government wants women to adopt electric vehicles and help create a pollution-free Delhi. This subsidy will provide an incentive for them. It is intended to extend this policy until March 31, 2030, to encompass electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial vehicles. This will only apply to vehicles valued about Rs 4.5 lakhs. However, it is critical to note that women who benefit from this plan will be ineligible for other subsidy programs.
