WhatsApp will no longer work on millions of Android phones running older versions of the operating system. The Meta-owned platform continues to remove devices from its support list, including iPhones, as it matures and adds new capabilities that require modern operating systems and hardware.
Android KitKat was released more than ten years ago, and support for the messaging app will be phased off in January 2025. So, if you’re still using an Android phone running KitKat, it’s time to upgrade and get a new smartphone to keep using WhatsApp.
