Aadhaar cards : In a big drive for digital comfort and privacy, the Indian government has introduced a new Aadhaar mobile app that allows users to authenticate and share their Aadhaar information without having to carry physical cards or submit photocopies.
Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the app in New Delhi, highlighting it as a significant step toward making Aadhaar more secure, seamless, and user-controlled.

Face ID authentication and QR code scanning were introduced.
Face ID verification is one of the new app’s notable features, as it improves both security and simplicity. Users can now digitally authenticate Aadhaar by scanning a QR code, just like a UPI payment.
“Aadhaar confirmation becomes as simple as UPI payments,” Vaishnaw remarked in a video shared on X.

No more photocopying at hotels, shops, or airports.
The new software eliminates the need to pass out paper Aadhaar copies at locations such as hotels, airports, and retail stores. Aadhaar verification can now be completed digitally with consent, providing complete privacy and control.
“There is no need to hand over an Aadhaar photocopy at hotel receptions, shops, or while traveling,” the minister added.
Privacy-first design, with user agreement.
The software is still in beta testing but has been created with significant privacy measures. It ensures that Aadhaar information is tamper-proof and can only be securely shared with the user’s explicit consent.

Aadhaar cards with AI the next big leap in digital India.
The minister referred to Aadhaar as the “foundation” of various government projects and asked stakeholders for ideas on how to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to boost growth while maintaining privacy.
According to reports, Apple may increase iPhone exports from India to the United States as part of a strategic attempt to avoid high Chinese import taxes. This transition, if executed, might strengthen India’s position as a worldwide production and export powerhouse for premium smartphones.
