Jitan Ram Manjhi : In response to requests for’special state status’ for Bihar, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi stated on Wednesday that the NITI Aayog has currently decided that no state will have special status.
However, Manjhi emphasised that PM Modi is giving special attention to the state, and Bihar’s progress will not be halted under any conditions.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi responded to the JDU’s call for separate state status for Bihar, saying, “It is not a big deal to convey the demand. But you must have observed how many schemes Bihar received in the past budget. Bihar has a budget of roughly Rs 300 crore. PM Modi is focussing his attention on Bihar, and the NITI Aayog has already declared that no state will have special status. It is their job to demand… However, regardless of the circumstances, Bihar’s development would continue.”

Union Minister Jitam Ram Manjhi celebrated his 80th birthday on Wednesday in Patna.
The JD (U), the BJP’s key ally in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has requested a different category for Bihar; however, on July 22, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary explained in a reply letter that Bihar cannot be granted unique status under the Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) report 2012.
