The Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions, indicated on Sunday that they had hired Afghanistan off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman to replace Allah Ghazanfar, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to injury. The 18-year-old Afghan spinner fractured the L4 vertebra, specifically the left pars interarticularis, and will miss the forthcoming Champions Trophy.
Ghazanfar’s injury occurred during Afghanistan’s recent visit of Zimbabwe.
