Sachin Tendulkar accepted the Melbourne Cricket Club’s (MCC) invitation to become an honorary member of the renowned club. The Melbourne Cricket Club is one of the most well-known sports clubs in history, and it owns and operates one of the world’s most iconic sporting grounds, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
“An icon is celebrated. The MCC is happy to announce that former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar has accepted an Honorary Cricket Membership in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the game,” the MCC announced on ‘X’.
Sachin is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen to have ever played the game.He made his international debut against Pakistan in a Test match at Karachi in November 1989, when he was only sixteen. Throughout his 24-year career, the right-handed batsman played 199 additional Tests. Sachin’s Test career was 15921 runs at an average of 53.78, including 51 hundreds and 68 half centuries. He also collected 46 Test wickets and was known for his ability to break partnerships.

Sachin Tendulkar played his farewell Test against West Indies.
In November 2013, he played his final Test against the West Indies at his home field, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Tendulkar was also a great one-day international run scorer for India, scoring 18426 runs in 463 appearances. He had a 44.83 batting average, with 49 hundreds and 96 fifties. He made his One-Day International debut against Pakistan on December 18, 1989, in Gujranwala, and his final appearance against the archrivals was on March 18, 2012.

Tendulkar appeared in just one Twenty20 International for India. It was held on December 1, 2006, at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium against South Africa. Tendulkar, who has retired from the game, continues to play in charity sports alongside other retired players from his generation.
