Manoj Tiwary, a former India and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter, has gone on a rant against Gautam Gambhir, the current senior national team head coach. Tiwary and Gambhir had previously played together in the Indian Premier League and for the Delhi state squad. Tiwary went on to dub Gambhir a ‘hypocrite’ who does not do what he preaches, as he confronts criticism for his poor management of the Indian team following recent Test defeats against Australia and New Zealand.
India pacer Harshit Rana, who made his Test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, defended Gambhir in the wake of recent criticism, particularly from Tiwary. But Rana’s defence does not surprise Tiwary.

“Why don’t Nitish Rana and Harshit Rana, for example, support Gautam Gambhir? Harshit Rana replaced Akash Deep in Perth. How is that possible? What did Akash Deep do incorrectly? He had standout performances against Bangladesh and New Zealand. As a fast bowler, you yearn to bowl in comfortable circumstances, yet you dropped him in favour of Harshit, who has no first-class experience. Akash Deep has fantastic records.
“I have not said anything incorrect. I am referring to public relations. This never used to happen. When anything or someone states the facts, people step forward to protect the individual, but they do not know me. I simply speak about facts. “Public relations is quite evident,” he continued.
Manoj Tiwari also opened past relationship with Gambhir
Tiwary also revealed details regarding his previous relationship with Gambhir, alleging that the latter abused his family and disparaged former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

“When Gautam Gambhir and I clashed in the Ranji Trophy match in Delhi, everyone heard everything. Whether he was criticising Sourav Ganguly or abusing my family, he was protected by a few others. This is the PR I’m referring to. The procedure for picking players and arranging them in the playing XI is not working correctly.
Tiwary continues to question Gambhir’s decisions in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He questioned the decision to select Harshit Rana and Devdutt Padikkal over other seasoned First-Class cricketers.
“How did Devdutt Padikkal make the Test squad despite the fact that he was not in contention? How did he get into the mix while Abhimanyu Easwaran was constantly scoring runs? He has scored several runs. Why wasn’t he chosen and didn’t play at number three? “These are the kinds of things that are going on, and the results are visible to everyone,” he told me.
