Kharge urges voters in J&K to vote for positive reform and assured welfare

Kharge : On Wednesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge asked the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to utilise their franchise since one vote will bring about positive change, protect their future, and ensure unbridled wellbeing.

Kharge stated on his social media account, X, that Jammu and Kashmir is on the verge of change. Today, as the second phase of voting begins for 26 seats, I urge the people of Jammu and Kashmir to turn out in big numbers to exercise their political rights.”

“When you push the voting key on the EVM, recall how your time was spent in deceit. For the first time in history, a state was reduced to the status of a Union Territory. Kharge stated that there is widespread unemployment and endemic corruption, and that land rights and social justice issues are becoming more frequent.

Kharge urged first-time voters, “A vote for positive change will secure your future and ensure unbridled welfare.” One vote will ensure your constitutional rights. I heartily welcome first-time voters who hope for a brighter future.

“These election are a watershed moment for Jammu and Kashmir, and let us use democracy to effect change,” said the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

The second round of voting is currently taking place in 26 assembly seats spread across six districts in the Union Territory.

Voting is currently ongoing in 11 constituencies in Jammu, and 15 constituencies in Kashmir.

“These votes are an important moment for Jammu and Kashmir and let us use the power of Communism to make that change happen,” Kharge told the media.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress national secretary, advised the people of Jammu and Kashmir that voting is their most essential right.

“You’ve been denied this right for the past ten years.” Restrictions were established on speaking out on topics such as energy, water, roads, employment, income, business, land, and forest. “Your power to select someone to represent you has been taken away from you,” she wrote on X in Hindi.

“In current second part of the elections, express the power of your vote. Vote for a government that will improve your future, livelihood, job, land, business, and address your concerns,” stated the Congress general secretary.

Piyush Goyal : 10 years of ‘Make in India’, employment opportunities in manufacturing have increased by 200 percent in the last two years

Piyush Goyal : On the tenth anniversary of the ‘Make in India’ project, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that since its inception, mobile phone imports have decreased by almost 85 percent.

The minister noted in a social media post on Wednesday that prior to the commencement of the ‘Make in India’ program, the country’s mobile import in 2014-15 were Rs 48,609 crore, which will be reduced to Rs 7665 crore in 2023-24.

He also emphasised that manufacturing jobs in the country increased by 200 percent between 2022 and 2024. He further mentioned that 99 percent of mobile phones in the country are now manufactured in India.

“Today commemorates the 10-year anniversary of #MakeInIndia, a revolutionary program announced by Prime Minister of India @NarendraModiji in 2014 that has transformed the manufacturing sector in India and boosted the economy.”Over the last decade, @MakeInIndia has evolved into a national power, opening the way for our country to become renowned as an International Industry Hub,” Goyal wrote in a social media post on ‘X’.

The Minister also emphasised the enormous influence of Make in India on the country’s industrial landscape. He remarked that the program is consistent with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s objective of establishing ‘Brand India’ as a global symbol of innovation and quality.

He added that various transformative changes have been implemented over the last decade, including the groundbreaking Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) program, which focusses on critical sectors to improve manufacturing skills.

The administration has also made progress in enhancing the ease of doing business and attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), hence creating a favourable climate for enterprises to thrive.

Minister Goyal pointed out attempts to boost the startup environment and provide possibilities for employment.

“Dedicated measures have been made to improve the ease of doing business as well as attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), with the federal government working as an important catalyst to foster an advantageous atmosphere for businesses and investors” according to the statement.

In his remarks, Goyal also stated that Make in India has created a solid basis for the country’s journey to becoming a Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047, paving the way for future growth in industry and the economy.

Shang : On Tuesday, Chinese tennis prodigy Shang Juncheng gained his maiden ATP circuit tournament by upsetting top-seeded Lorenzo Musetti of Italy 7-6(4), 6-1.

Shang stated his joy after winning his first title on native turf following the match. “This night is amazing,” stated the 19-year-old. “I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who helped. We’ll see you next year!”

Shang, a budding talent, finished second at the US Open Juniors in 2021 before making his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open in 2023.

Sebi Fines Anmol Ambani Rs 1 Crore in a Reliance Home Finance Case

SEBI Fines: The Security and Markets Bureau of India (SEBI) fined Anmol Ambani, the son of tycoon Anil Ambani, Rs 1 crore on Monday. The punishment was given because he failed to do enough due diligence before issuing general-purpose loans to entities in the Reliance Home Finance Limited case.The securities regulator also penalised Krishnan Gopalakrishnan, Reliance Housing Finance’s Chief Risk Officer, Rs 15 lakh.The Securities and Exchange Bureau of India (Sebi) requested that both parties pay the required amount within 45 days.

The ruling came after the Sebi prohibited Anil Ambani and 24 others from stock trading for five years in August over the misuse of funds from Reliance Home Finance Ltd. In addition, he received a Rs 25 crore fine. In its order on Monday, Sebi stated that Anmol Ambani, who was on the board of Reliance Home Finance, had granted general-purpose corporate loans, or GPCL loans, despite the company’s board of directors’ express direction not to make such loans.

Anmol Ambani granted a Rs 20 crore loan to Accura Creations Private Limited on February 14, 2019, despite the fact that the board of directors ordered the management not to issue any additional GPCL loans at their conference on February 11, 2019. “Noticee 1 (Anmol Ambani), in his role as the corporation’s not an executive director of activities managed the company conform to his own seeing, transcending the typical responsibilities of his directorship position.”

Noticee 1’s actions convey the impression that it is motivated and not in the best interests of its shareholders, that it has not operated with due care and diligence, and that it has not maintained high ethical standards, according to Sebi. According to the the release, Anmol, who worked on the boards of Reliance Investments Corporation Limited and Reliance Home Finance, as well as a director in other Reliance ADAG group firms where the cash was lent, “did not physical activity reasonable due diligence in relation to the entire GPCL supplying and the onwards lending by these GPCL objects to many different Reliance ADAG grouping companies, including Reliance Capital.”

Sebi Fines Anmol Ambani Rs 1 Crore

Sebi stated that Gopalakrishnan had also approved many GPCL loans and was aware of the significant variations found in the credit approval memos of various loans that he had advised while serving as the company’s CRO. a report by Sebi, Gopalakrishnan, as an employee of Reliance Housing Finance’s upper management, should have followed proper procedures, adhered to the company’s code of conduct, fulfilled his obligations with care and attention, and behaved in good faith in the interests of all stakeholders. Both Anmol Ambani and Gopalakrishnan broke the terms of Sebi’s LODR regulations.

Jai Anmol participated in the day-to-day operations of the company and was also sanctioning GPCL loans to promoter-related entities, according to the statement, and “his submission that he did not participate in the day-to-day affairs of the Company cannot be accepted.”

Sebi fined Anil Ambani ₹25 crore and prohibited him from holding significant managerial or directorial positions in any listed firm or market intermediary for five years.

In an additional move last month, the SEBI banned billionaire Anil Ambani, three top officials of his company, and 23 entities affiliated with him from dealing in the stock market for five years.

SEBI’s investigation revealed a pattern of financial wrongdoing committed by Anil Ambani and his accomplices.

The regulatory authority discovered that monies were being routed under the guise of loans to firms associated to Anil Ambani, resulting in serious violations of financial norms.

Ambedkar quit as Union Law Minister to protect the self-worth and honour of the country’s weakest portions,” she remarked.

Conflict in Haryana Congress

The disparities between veteran politician and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the party’s significant Dalit figure, Kumari Selja, have become clear. With less than two weeks until the important votes, reports suggest that Selja is distancing herself from the campaign, increasing questions about her role and the party’s cohesiveness ahead of elections.

Kumari Selja planned to run for Uklana, but the party denied her a ticket. The party was prepared to grant her nephew Harsh a ticket from Uklana, but the ruling Congress leader refused.

Former Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has urged Selija to join the BJP, despite claims that she is ‘upset’. Selja’s place in the Congress remains uncertain, since her lack of involvement raises concerns about her future with the party.

The meeting is expected to attract a large number of international leaders. On the fringes of the Summit, the Prime Minister will meet bilaterally with various international leaders to address issues of common concern.

During the talks, both leaders noted and applauded their respective countries’ efforts to facilitate a semiconductor supply chain. Also noted was the recently established GlobalFoundries (GF) Kolkata Power Centre, which promises to help both countries in terms of semiconductor growth and research.

According to a fact sheet presented by the White House, the two leaders agreed to ongoing partnership between India and the United States to encourage and develop emerging technologies ranging from artificial intelligence to advanced semiconductor processing.

India beat Bangladesh by 280 runs, Ashwin and Jadeja heroes of victory

India : Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin & Ravindra Jadeja led India to a 280-run victory over Bangladesh in the 1 Test at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here on Today.

Day 4 of the latest Chennai Test started with India needing six wickets and Bangladesh needing 357 runs to win the first game of the two-match series.

Ashwin took six wickets for India in a 21-over session, conceding 88 runs. In his 5.1-over performance, Jadeja took three wickets, allowed 58 runs, and bowled two maidens. Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket, conceding only 24 runs and bowling two maiden overs in ten overs.

At the drinks break, Bangladesh were 194/4, with Najmul Hossain Shanto (64) and Shakib Al Hasan (25) unbroken at the crease.

After drinks, off-spinner Ravichandaran Ashwin made the first crack for the hosts, returning left-hand hitter Shakib Al Hasan to the pavilion. The southpaw was removed after scoring 25 runs.

Following the withdrawal of the left-hand batter, Litton Das, the team’s wicketkeeper, batted in the middle alongside skipper Shanto.

Bangladesh reached 200 runs in 53.5 overs as Shanto slammed a boundary off Ashwin.

Das returned to the dressing room in the next over, bowled by Jadeja, after scoring only one run in the 55th over, with the team total at 205 runs.

Bangladesh began to struggle after that, being bowled out for only 234 runs in the 62.1 overs they faced in their second inning.

Shanto produced a brilliant innings of 82 runs off 127 balls, including eight boundaries and three maximums.

Bangladesh finished day three on 158/4, with skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (51) and Shakib Al Hasan (5) undefeated. Bangladesh began the post-Tea session at 56/0, with Shadman Islam (21) and Zakir Hasan (32) unbeaten at the crease.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah attacked early in the session, eliminating Zakir for 33 (47 balls). Ravichandran Ashwin took up the final three wickets, dismissing Shadman Islam (35), Mominul Haque (13), and Mushfiqur Rahim (13).

Ashwin was brought late on the fourth day, after the first hour, and removed Shakib in his first over on Sunday, after dismissing three batters the day before. The tap was opened following Shakib’s wicket, as Bangladesh lost six wickets for only 40 runs. Ashwin equalled Shane Warne with his 37th five-wicket haul, finishing with scores of 6/88, while Jadeja took three wickets.

However, Ashwin set the tone for the match, although with the bat in the first innings. At 144/6, India appeared to be in a difficult situation, with Bangladesh’s pacers on fire. However, the two Ravis – Indran and Chandran – Ashwin and Jadeja put up a mammoth 199-run stand to spearhead India’s comeback.

The second session of Day Three of the Chennai Test began with India at 205/3, with Rishabh Pant (82) and Shubman Gill (86) standing at the crease. India currently has a 432-run advantage.

Gill had an undefeated knock of 119 runs from 176 balls, including 10 boundaries and four maximums.

Middle-order the batter KL Rahul also delivered an important effort of unbeaten 22 runs in 19 balls, including four boundaries.India declared their innings when they had scored 287 runs for the cost of four wickets. They set the opponent a target of 515 runs to win the series’ first match.

Brief Score: India 376 and 287/4 d (Shubman Gill 119*, Rishabh Pant 109, Nahid Rana 1/21) leads Bangladesh 149 and 234 all out (Najmul Hossain Shanto 82, Zakir Hasan 32, Ravichandran Ashwin 6/88).

India has grabbed a 1-0 lead in the series and maintained their position at the top of the WTC rankings with a PCT of 71.67. Bangladesh, on the other hand, is currently in a must-win position following a crushing setback in order to advance to the WTC final.
