On Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that Modi will inaugurate the Pune Metro portion from the district court to Swargate, marking the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1).

The underground phase is estimated to cost roughly Rs 1,810 crore.

Modi will lay the cornerstone for the Pune Metro Phase 1 upgrade from Swargate to Katraj, which will require approximately Rs 2,955 crore to build. According to the PMO, this 5.46-kilometer southern extension is totally subterranean and has three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.

The prime minister will also launch the Bidkin Industrial Area, a transformative project spanning 7,855 acres under the Center’s National Industrial Corridor Development Strategy.

Modi will also launch the Solapur airport. It will greatly enhance connectivity, making Solapur more accessible to tourists, business travelers, and investors.

According to the PMO, the airport’s existing terminal building has been renovated to accommodate around 4.1 lakh people per year.

The prime minister was scheduled to announce the majority of these projects from Pune, the poll-bound state, a few days ago, but his visit was canceled due to heavy rains.

Modi would also establish Bidkin Industries Zone

Modi will additionally launch the Bidkin Industrial Area, a 7,855-acre project under the National Industry Corridor Development Programme. The initiative, located along the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, intends to build an industrial powerhouse in the Marathwada region. The whole approved project cost exceeds ₹6,400 crore and will be finished in three phases.

The Prime Minister will additionally open Solapur Airport, which is expected to greatly increase regional connectivity. The refurbished terminal will handle roughly 4.1 lakh people per year, improving the city’s accessibility for tourists, business travelers, and investors.

While speaking to the press at the IIFA Utsavam 2024, she said, “I remember when we were artistes and there was not an internet or social media at the time.” I believe I am part of the generation that has gone through it, since I began before there was social media and then entered it, so I have seen both. I believe there is a lot of attention focused on everything, what you’re wearing, what you’re seeing, where you’re seen, where you’re spotted, and I also believe that people are constantly consuming data, which detracts from the excitement of seeing famous people and actors because you see them every now and then.”

She went on to say, “I mean, both have advantages and disadvantages. We can definitely communicate with our fans more easily. We usually make two films a year, but the rest of the time we can connect with them. So, I believe there are both positives and cons.”

The superstar is going to take on a new position as a filmmaker with her upcoming film, ‘Do Patti.’ She was open about it and stated, “‘Do Patti’ is my first baby as a producer. I’m very excited and nervous. I hope that what we’ve tried to do is well received and that there is something we’re trying to communicate with the film that touches people’s hearts, and this is only the beginning. When you refer to me as a producer, I consider myself a beginner, therefore this has been a learning experience. But creatively, it’s been rewarding, and as a businessperson, I’ve enjoyed it…”

Spending : Credit card spending and growth in loans have slowed as lenders remain mindful of the quality of assets. Nomura

0

Spending : Credit card spending and loan growth are under pressure as lenders remain wary about asset quality issues, according to a research by global financial services giant Nomura.

Credit card expenditure growth throughout the system has slowed to approximately 13% year on year (y-o-y) in August 2024, down from 19% in July.

number of cards issued and overall credit card spending

RBI credit card figures for August 2024 also showed a persistent decline in both the number of cards issued and overall credit card spending. This slowdown is reflected in FY25’s year-to-date (YTD) increase of 17%, compared to the previous fiscal year’s 28% growth.

The survey highlighted that while the upcoming holiday season may provide a short lift in spending, it is unlikely to be considerable given to last year’s solid base and issuers’ conservative lending standards. For the past five months, the amount of new credit cards introduced to the system has regularly been less than one million, with only 0.9 million net cards acquired in August 2024.

This indicates a considerable reduction in outstanding card growth, which fell to 16% year on year in August from 19% in FY24.

The trend is seen across most major lenders, who are hesitant to issue new cards as they consolidate in response to concerns about declining asset quality. Spending per credit card has also slowed, with average monthly spending per card around Rs 16,000 in August 2024, representing a 2% year-on-year reduction.

The annualized spend per card for the fiscal year to date (April-August 2024) was Rs 1.87 lakh, a 1% increase compared to a 7% rise in FY24 and 27% in FY23.

This slower growth is attributable to the base operation, as purchases of high value connected to travel and hospitality, which increased following the pandemic, have already been reflected in previous data.

Credit card additions and spending are declining, which is impacting loan growth. As spending slows, so does the rise of credit card borrowing, as evidenced by various lenders’ Q1 FY25 financial figures.

This trend is required to continue throughout the second quarter of fiscal year 25 and beyond, with credit card-related loan growth slowing further.

Lenders are also cutting credit card perks. According to data from FY24 annual reports, most lenders’ provisions for credit card reward points as a percentage of spending have fallen from FY23. This is consistent with the overall growth deceleration, as issuers focus on profitability rather than aggressive growth.

Another source of concern is declining the value of assets in credit card networks. According to bureau data, the percentage of accounts 90 days or more past due increased further in Q1 FY25, excluding write-offs.

Jharkhand : Chief Minister Dhami participates in “the Parivartan Sabha” for Nala Parliamentary Constituency.

0

Jharkhand : On Thursday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took part in the “Parivartan Sabha” for the Nala Assembly Constituency in Kundhit.

Speaking to a large crowd of hundreds of people, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister stated that he had come from the sacred area of Baba Kedar in Uttarakhand. He claimed that seeing the Kundhit people and their love creates a rush of energy.

The publicity drive started by the BJP of Jharkhand should not be stopped,” he told reporters.

He further stated that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and the state of Jharkhand were formed concurrently.

“Both states are known for their old culture. Jharkhand has a rich heritage of forest wealth, natural resources, and tribal fortitude. “Our native citizens were the first to come forward and speak out against the British,” explains Dhami.

According to the Chief Minister, tribal society was neglected after the country gained independence.

“By founding the state of Jharkhand, former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee contributed to build the state as well as its tribal citizens. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working tirelessly to boost tribal society’s respect and self-esteem. We are proud that Draupadi Murmu, the daughter of tribal people, is the country’s President. “All of this is due to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership,” he stated.

Furthermore, he stated that Prime Minister Modi had declared Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary as Janjati Gaurav Diwas.

“Many temples dedicated to tribal freedom fighters have been created at a cost of 200 crores.Dhami added that the Prime Minister’s leadership is still working to integrate tribal people into mainstream culture.

The Chief Minister further stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the Central Government is running numerous projects that prioritize tribal society.

“Many initiatives, including as the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Yojana, and PM Awas Yojana, are being implemented to help people progress. Today’s initiatives are not merely on paper, but also an assurance from Prime Minister Modi. Jharkhand is being developed under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami stated in Jharkhand

The Chief Minister stated that one crore and two lakh individuals in Jharkhand have received Ayushman Bharat cards, and 55 lakh people have been housed under the housing initiative.

He added, “More than 38 lakh families have received free gas cylinders. 32 lakh families now have access to pure water. More than 30 lakh farmers are receiving Samman Nidhi. The Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana has funded the construction of around 33000 kilometers of roads. Around 340 kilometers of road have been built in the Jamtara area. Samman Nidhi worth Rs 154 crore has been provided to around 88 thousand farmers in Jamtara district. Along with the projects, the Prime Minister has made several difficult and significant decisions in the benefit of the country.”

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister stated that on one side there is the BJP, led by respected Prime Minister Modi, which prioritizes public welfare through development, and on the other side there is concessions, corruption, JMM, RJD, and the Congress gang, all of which are corrupt.

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister stated that in various regions of the province, slogans such as “Hindus and tribes leave Jharkhand” are being raised.

“The Jharkhand authority and its adversary partners are sheltering these individuals. Infiltration in Jharkhand is expected to increase significantly in the near future. Previously, the number of tribals in this area had decreased from 44 to 28 percent. This is a huge question… This question requires us all to work together to get the answer. The Jharkhand government has consistently misled tribals. Jharkhand has approximately two lakh empty government positions. All of these positions will be filled whenever the BJP takes power. He claimed that the corrupt administration of Jharkhand distributes papers for money.

Furthermore, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister claimed that there is a plan to halt Durga Puja in Ranchi. “The Congress and JMM govt combine to not set up Durga Puja pandals,” he told me. Dhami urged citizens to form a BJP government in Jharkhand.

Marsh: ‘I wish Rishabh Pant could have been Australian.’

0

Marsh : Rishabh Pant, who has completed an amazing rehab to make his return to international cricket on the same note where he paused after an unavoidable break due to a horrible automobile accident in December 2022, is undoubtedly the player who gets fans’ adrenaline flowing the most these days.

After a year-long rehabilitation phase, India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Pant returned to professional cricket with the Indian Premier League earlier this year and went on to play a role in India’s T20 World Cup victory.

He scored a superb century in his debut Test against Bangladesh last week, marking his comeback to the old red ball format.

Pant’s tenacity, guts, determination, talent, enthusiasm, and aggressive approach to cricket have made Australia’s T20I captain, Mitchell Marsh, wishful thinking.

“He’s a ripping guy. When asked in a Star Sports video which Indian player he believes is the most Australian, Marsh laughed and replied, “I wish he was Australian.”

“He has definitely gained a lot of expertise over the last few years. What an incredible comeback. He’s a pleasant guy who is still youthful. He enjoys winning and is extremely competitive for someone who, on the surface, appears to be laid-back and always laughing. “He gets that enormous laugh. Marsh made a statement.

Pant scored a stroke-filled 109 in the next innings of India’s 280-run win in Chennai. He added 167 runs to his collaboration with fellow centurion and India opener Shubman Gill, who finished 119 not out.

Head, who scored a title-winning century in the ODI World Cup final versus India last year, could not agree more with Marsh.

India and Australia will square off in a five-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy before the end of the calendar year, with Pant hoping to repeat his Gabba heroics from India’s 2020-21 tour Down Under.

Pant earned his Test debut in 2018 against England. In 34 Tests and 58 innings, the 26-year-old scored 2419 runs with a strike rate of 74.11.

The 26-year-old played seven matches against Australia, scoring 624 runs at an average strike rate of 72.13.

Marsh told Star Sports

Marsh told Star Sports that Pant went through a lot in recent years and made a fantastic comeback. The Australian all-rounder praised the Indian cricketer, describing him as a “optimistic guy”.

“He’s a ripping guy. I wish he was Australian. He’s clearly gone through a lot in recent years, and he’s made a remarkable comeback. He’s a happy man who’s still quite young and enjoys winning. He is quite competitive for someone who exudes relaxation and is constantly laughing and smiling. Marsh told Star Sports, “He’s got that large expression.”

Travis Head, an Australian batsman, praised Pant for his “aggressive” nature.

“I believe Rishabh Pant is the Indian batsman who most closely matches Australia. I believe the way he approaches his aggressive temperament and work ethic would make him a lot of fun to play with,” Head added.

Pant played 31 One-Day Internationals and 27 innings, collecting 871 runs at an average strike rate of 106.21.

In T20Is, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter appeared in 76 matches and 66 innings, scoring 1209 runs with a strike rate of 127.26.

The second Test, set for December 6-10 at Adelaide Oval, will feature an intriguing day-night format under the stadium’s lights. After that, fans will turn their focus to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test, which will take place from December 14 to 18.

The traditional Boxing Day Test, scheduled for December 26-30 at Melbourne’s legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground, will bring the series to its concluding stage.

The fifth and final Test, held at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, would act as the series’ climax, offering a dramatic end to a fascinating competition .

Earlier on September 24, the Lebanese health department announced that Israel’s recent attack on Lebanon had resulted in at least 558 deaths, according to Al Jazeera.

The Lebanese health authority revealed that 50 of the 558 people died in IDF attacks were children, while 1,835 were wounded.

Notably, Israel continued to strike Hezbollah locations in Lebanon, while the Iran-backed terrorist group fired rockets at Haifa, Nahariya, the Galilee, and the Jezreel Valley overnight and Tuesday morning.

According to the Israel Defence Forces, the Air Force targeted around 1,600 targets in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, including missile launchers, command stations, and other terror infrastructure, some of which were within civilian homes.
