Nita Ambani shows ethnic flair in traditional sarees at Trump’s inauguration.

Nita Ambani did what she does well, she put her best fashionable foot forward over the weekend at a special event honouring now-President Donald Trump. She embraced traditional traditions with entire flair while wearing an amazing jamewar (Kashmiri cloth) saree designed by famous designer Tarun Tahiliani.

The saree, which took 1,900 laborious hours to create, has elaborate aari work and tiny French knots, resulting in a magnificent interplay of texture and detailing. She wore it with a trendy tapered collared blouse adorned with a big diamond brooch at the neckline. Tahiliani’s trademark flair was evident in the attire, which blended history and modern elegance.

Heritage jamewar shawls were sewn by expert craftsmen, hand-painted, printed, and embellished with delicate stitching for a faultless drape. Her saree was a modern take on the classic jamewar, embellished with the best kashidakari, a traditional Kashmiri embroidery technique that used thread and beads to create beautiful patterns and designs.

Her ensemble was finished with a pair of pearl and diamond-studded chandbalis. Simple and uncomplicated, yet undoubtedly striking.

Nita and Mukesh Ambani attended a private reception honouring President Trump prior to Inauguration Day.

Nita Ambani followed the customary way for her wedding celebration as well. Swadesh custom-designed a Kanchipuram silk saree for her. It was woven by B Krishnamoorthy, a National Award-winning master artisan, and features intricate and meticulously chosen motifs such as the Iruthalaipakshi (a double-headed eagle symbolising Lord Vishnu), Mayil (representing immortality and divinity), and the mythical Sorgavasal animal trails.

To give the saree a more modern vibe, she paired it with a Manish Malhotra velvet shirt with a built-up neckline and explain beadwork down the sleeves.

Her accessories made a statement on their own, with the necklace standing out. It included a rare parrot-shaped pendant made in Southern India in the 18th century. The pendant, embellished with emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and pearls, was set using the traditional gold Kundan technique and accented with brilliant red and green enamel to properly compliment her outfit.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani were invited to Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony as 47th President of the United States, which took place Monday at the Capitol in Washington, DC. Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Elon Musk of Tesla, Tim Cook of Apple, and Sundar Pichai of Google were also among those in attendance.
