US President Trump : On Wednesday, after his cabinet meeting, US President Donald Trump stated, “Ukraine can forget about joining NATO.” Also in attendance was billionaire tech tycoon Elon Musk.

“Look, let’s be sincere, the European Union was created to screw the United States,” Trump told a meeting of the cabinet, according to AFP.
The US President also dismissed Ukraine’s bid to join NATO, confirming Russia’s claim that the issue was the root cause of the three-year-old conflict.

When questioned about a potential war-ending agreement, Trump remarked, “NATO — you can forget about it.” “I think that’s probably the reason the whole thing started.”
“I’m not going to provide any substantial security guarantees. “We’re going to have Europe do that,” Trump added, referring to the bloc.
The remarks come as Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to visit the White House this week to sign an agreement granting the US access to Ukrainian mineral riches.
“President Zelenskyy is going to be visiting on Friday, that is now verified,” Trump stated at his first cabinet conference Wednesday.
US President Trump wanted repayment
Trump has wanted repayment for US aid given out during the administration of former US President Joe Biden in the three years since Russia invaded in February 2022.
According to the Kiel Institute, a German economic research group, the US leader requested $500 billion in compensation, which is roughly four times the amount Washington has given out to Ukraine, which is already $120 billion.
Zelenskyy rejected the paperwork, stating that he would not sign off on an agreement that “ten generations” of Ukrainians would be required to pay off.
He also stated that duties on European Union imports will be 25% in general, with tariffs on Canada and Mexico beginning in early April.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk urged Trump to “move quickly” on reducing the federal budget deficit. The US President stated that cabinet members were pleased with Musk’s contributions, whose mission to change the federal government is shaking up Washington.
