US President Donald Trump has requested his Ukrainian a friend Volodymyr Zelensky to a meeting in Washington to sign an agreement on key minerals, implying that the war between Russia and Ukraine could conclude “within weeks”. The American President also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin had “no issue” with European peacekeeping soldiers in his country, and that Kermelin does not want “more war.”
“I’ll have a discussion with President Zelensky. “In fact, he may come in this week or next week to sign the contract,” Trump told press from the Oval Office Monday.

US President Donald Trump statements
President Trump’s statements came during his conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, days after the American leader claimed Zelensky was not need to participate in negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.
This comes after Trump dubbed the Ukrainian a “dictator” last week following US-Russia meetings in Saudi Arabia, from which Kyiv was barred.

On talks with Ukraine to gain access to the country’s key minerals, Trump stated, “They’re very close to a final deal.”
“It’ll be an agreement with rare earths and many other things, and he would like to come, as I understood it, here to sign it, and that would be wonderful with me,” he told me.
Zelensky proposed the offer of sharing Ukraine’s natural riches with America in order to gain future US security guarantees. However, the Americans’ draft deal revealed last week reportedly requested 50% of income from Ukraine’s natural resources in exchange for no security guarantees.
Without protection guarantees, Zelensky refused to sign a draft pact, prompting American and Ukrainian diplomats to seek a compromise.
In the White House, Trump stated , “They’re very close to a final deal.” “It’ll be a deal with rare earths and various other things, and he would like to come, as I understand it, here to sign it, and that would be great with me.” Trump later stated that the United States and Moscow were negotiating an economic deal on his Truth Social platform.

On Talks with Russia
Trump was also questioned about his conversations with Russia and the European Union’s offer to send peacekeepers to Ukraine, which Russian officials have explicitly refused in order to ensure a demilitarised zone between Ukraine and Russia in any peace agreement.
Trump responded, “Yes, he will accept that,” when asked if Putin would consent to the deployment of European peacekeeping forces as part of a final deal. That’s what I asked him. He’s not looking for more war, you see, if we make this deal. I’ve asked him the question precisely, but he doesn’t mind. He doesn’t mind at all.
