General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, will meet with US President Donald Trump during his official visit to Washington. The rumors regarding the conversation came days after the White House denied invitation Munir to the US Army’s 250th anniversary celebrations on June 14.
According to the president’s daily public schedule, the Pakistani military leader will meet the US leader for lunch on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. (Washington time) in the White House Cabinet Room.
Munir is also slated to meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during his visit to the United States, according to Pakistani daily Dawn.
The meeting’s timing is significant, as it takes place amid an intensifying high-stakes war between Israel and Iran.

Asim Munir is US Trip
According to the article, the Pakistan Army Chief arrived in Washington on Sunday for a five-day official visit that is “primarily bilateral in nature” and aims to strengthen military and strategic ties with the United States.
Several Pakistani citizens and Pakistani Americans, however, were not pleased with his visit, protesting outside his hotel and outside the Pakistani embassy in Washington, demanding for the restoration of “unfettered democracy” in Pakistan. The protests were organized by supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who confronted Munir outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, chanting slogans such as “Asim Munir, you are a coward,” “shame on you, mass murderer,” “shame on you, dictator,” and “Pakistaniyon Ke Kaati (Killer of Pakistanies).”
This is Munir’s first official visit to the United States since the armed war with India erupted following the April 22 terror assault on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people. The skirmishes came to an end after Islamabad proposed a ceasefire to New Delhi. US President Donald Trump had claimed that he used trade as leverage to broker a truce, which India refuted.
