Nuclear Deal : US President Donald Trump threatened Iran on Sunday with bombs and secondary taxes if Tehran did not reach an agreement with Washington on its nuclear programme.
In a telephone interview with NBC News, Trump stated that US and Iranian officials were speaking but did not explain.

“If they don’t make an agreement, there will be bombing,” Trump declared. “But there’s an opportunity that if they don’t make an agreement, that I will do secondary tariffs on them like I did four years ago.”

In his first term from 2017 to 2021, Trump withdrew from a 2015 agreement between Iran and international powers that limited Tehran’s disputed nuclear activity in exchange for sanctions relief.
Trump also reinstated sweeping US sanctions. Since then, the Islamic Republic has greatly exceeded the agreed-upon restrictions on uranium enrichment.

Iran responded to Trump’s letter, in which he pushed Tehran to seek a new nuclear agreement, via Oman, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday, according to the official IRNA news agency.
Western governments accuse Iran of pursuing a covert agenda to build nuclear weapons capability by enriching uranium to a high level of fissile purity that beyond what they consider acceptable for a civilian atomic energy program.
Tehran claims its nuclear program is solely for civilian energy objectives.
