Put in jail Imran Khan requests international assistance for Pakistan’s democratic restoration in an article published in Time magazine.

Imran Khan : Time magazine published an article from Pakistan’s imprisoned former prime minister, Imran Khan. In his piece, Khan urged the world community—and the US in particular—to restate its dedication to democracy, human rights, and regional stability.

According to Pakistan Dawn, Time magazine published a story under his name. Khan praised the “political comeback” of US President Donald Trump.

Khan said that he hoped the US will cooperate with Pakistan in order to develop economic ties, advance stability, and avert the circumstances that give rise to extremism and violence.

Khan also stated his desire that the United States would collaborate with Pakistan to create economic relationships, maintain stability, and eliminate conditions conducive to conflict and extremism.

Imran Khan underlines the ‘political instability’.

The former prime minister noted Pakistan’s ‘political turbulence’ and his continued fight for democracy. He expressed significant concern about the purported degradation of democracy in the country, citing the current situation as one of the most difficult in the country’s history.

He underlined that his arrest and the charges levelled against him were politically motivated efforts to silence his advocacy for democratic ideas.

Given Pakistan’s strategic importance, Khan underlined that the international community must understand the necessity of fixing the problem.

On the topic of terrorism, Khan chastised the government for diverting resources away from critical counterterrorism measures to pursue a political vendetta against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Regions including as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, which have seen an increase in terrorist activity, were ignored in lieu of “military campaigns against political opponents”. Khan stated that the judiciary had been converted to an instrument of political persecution.

Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Irfan Siddiqui claimed on Saturday’s DawnNews TV show ‘Doosra Rukh’ that the PTI was “impossible to predict”.

According to the PML-N senator, the party proposed coalitions while also calling for civil disobedience, writing letters, and publishing “explosive” pieces in Time magazine.

Senator Siddiqui stated during the meetings with the PTI that it was impossible to present choices since they did not examine them in any forum; instead, their decisions were made directly by Khan.

He claimed that the PTI was ignorant of their actions until Khan gave them instructions.

“When Imran ordered ‘no more talks’, the PTI leadership was completely caught off guard,” he claimed.

When asked if the PTI wanted to continue the negotiations despite Imran’s directions, he said “yes.”
