Modi : PM Modi interacts with technological CEOs in New York and reviews new technologies

Modi : On Day 2 of his three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a number of industry leaders from semiconductors, electronics, and biotechnology, where they discussed India’s potential and possibilities.

The CEO conference was attended by Shantanu Narayen, Chairman, President, and CEO of Adobe; Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google; Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM; Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD; and Noubar Afeyan, Chairman of Moderna.

“I had a fascinating conversation with technological CEOs in New York about the latest developments and other key matters.” India’s achievements in this field were also highlighted. In an online article, PM Modi said, “I am happy to see immense confidence towards India.” President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised mixed an effort to simplify resilient, secure, and sustainable semiconductor supply chains, including GlobalFoundries’ (GF) establishment of the GF Kolkata Power Centre in Kolkata, India, which will enhance mutually beneficial linkages in chip manufacturing facilities research and progress.

“According to a joint information sheet provided by the White House, the leaders supported grew private-sector partnerships in developing technologies. Notably, IBM recently signed memorandums of understanding with the Indian government to enable the usage of IBM’s Watsonx platform on India’s Airawat supercomputer. This relationship is intended to promote AI innovation, strengthen R&D efforts in advanced semiconductor processors in the system and increase support for India’s National Quantum Vision.”

Both leaders praised the progress made since the Ministry of Commerce and the Minister of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2023 to strengthen two counties’ innovation systems within the framework of the “Innovation Handshake” programme.

Since then, the two sides have held two industry roundtables in the United States and India to bring together new businesses, private equity and venture capital companies, corporate investment departments, and government agencies to network and accelerate investment in innovation.

While in New York City, Modi, the prime minister of India, spoke to a large crowd of Indians from across the country on Sunday.

PM Modi joined the 4th Quad Leaders’ Summit, which was hosted by US President Joe Biden, on Saturday in Wilmington, Delaware .Following the United States’ invitation to host the Quad Summit this year, India has agreed to host the next Quad Conference in 2025. The forum has emerged as an important gathering of like-minded countries working to promote peace, growth, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.

Modi addresses a meeting in New York City today

Modi, the Indian prime minister, will address the ‘The summit of the Futures’ at the United Nations United Nations General Assembly in New York City on Monday, before departing for India. The Summit’s topic is “Multilateral Strategies for a Better Tomorrow.”

The meeting is expected to attract a large number of international leaders. On the fringes of the Summit, the Prime Minister will meet bilaterally with various international leaders to address issues of common concern.

During the talks, both leaders noted and applauded their respective countries’ efforts to facilitate a semiconductor supply chain. Also noted was the recently established GlobalFoundries (GF) Kolkata Power Centre, which promises to help both countries in terms of semiconductor growth and research.

According to a fact sheet presented by the White House, the two leaders agreed to ongoing partnership between India and the United States to encourage and develop emerging technologies ranging from artificial intelligence to advanced semiconductor processing.
