Modi :Prime Minister Narendra Modi offers a total of $7.5 million and 40 million vaccine doses to support Quad’s efforts to take on cervical

Modi : On Saturday (local time), Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India will provide $7.5 million, includes 40 million vaccine doses for Indo-Pacific area countries through GAVI and QUAD projects, to help with the Quad’s cervical cancer efforts in the Pacific area. He made the declaration during the Quad Leaders’ Cancer Moonshot event, when other leaders promised to combat cervical cancer across the Indo-Pacific.

What is Cancer Moonshot?

The Cancer Moonshot is a ground-breaking collaboration aiming at saving lives in the Indo-Pacific area by combating cervical cancer. India has pledged to deliver $7.5 million in HPV sampling kits, testing kits, and cervical cancer vaccines to the Indo-Pacific region.

According to a joint statement, India’s $10 million commitment to the WHO’s Global Initiative on Digital Health will provide technical assistance to interested countries in the Indo-Pacific region for the adoption and deployment of its Digital Public Infrastructure, which aids in cancer screening and treatment.

The USA hopes to contribute to this initiative, including by providing US Navy healthcare classes and an expert exchanges in the region beginning in 2025, as well as by allowing the US Global Development finances Corporation (DFC) to finance qualified private sector-driven projects to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer, including cervical cancer research.
