However, on Wednesday, a Meta spokeswoman stated that “Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and having a chance to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration.”
According to the spokesperson, it is a critical period for the future of American creativity.
It was unclear whether billionaire Elon Musk, a staunch Trump ally who earlier challenged Zuckerberg to a cage match battle, attended the meal, despite his regular visits to Mar-a-Lago since the election.
According to Stephen Miller, Trump’s incoming deputy chief of staff for policy, Zuckerberg “has been very clear about his intent to be a supporter of, and a participant in, this change that we’re seeing all around America.”
“He’s made it clear that he intends to support the national renewal of America under President Trump’s leadership,” Miller stated in a televised interview.
While treading carefully during Trump’s first term, tech titans were ready to hail the Republican’s election triumph this time, with Zuckerberg among those who congratulated him.
Prior to the election, Zuckerberg discontinued election-related fundraising, and Meta changed its algorithms to limit political content.
Trump seized the funds following his 2020 loss to Joe Biden, falsely claimed that they were part of a scheme to steal the election.
