King Charles III of Britain stated that he was “slightly anxious” about wearing the coronation crown in case it “wobbled” during his mother’s coronation ceremony in a forthcoming documentary.
Crown weight
“The biggest one that you’re crowned with, the St Edward’s Crown, it weight five pounds (more than two kilogrammes),” Charles stated on “the Coronation Girls” .
King Charles remarked
“It is much heavier and more powerful, so there’s always that feeling of being slightly anxious, in case it wobbles,” the king remarked, referring to the 17th-century gold headgear with which he was crowned last year after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died.
“Coronation Girls” traces the journey of 12 Canadian females who sailed around the North Atlantic to London for Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953.

In 2023, the women retraced their ways to Buckingham Palace, where the king shocked them by saying he “remember(ed) a fairly lot” from his mother’s coronation despite being just four years old.
“I recollect it all so well then, because I recall my sister and I had bath time in the evening,” Charles claimed.
“My mother used to practice by coming up to the bath wearing the crown. You have to get used to how heavy it is.
In Canada, “Coronation Girls,” created by Canadian filmmaker Douglas Arrowsmith, will air on Boxing Day.
The documentary will be available worldwide next year.
