Donald Trump Describes Putin as “Absolutely Crazy” after Russia steps up attacks Ukraine

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump called his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, “crazy” for launching one of the largest attacks on Ukraine since the conflict began. He also warned Moscow that any attempt to seize full control of Ukraine would “lead to Russia’s downfall.”

Vladimir Putin of Russia and I have always had a close relationship, but something happened to him.He has gone utterly insane! He is needlessly killing a large number of people, and I am not just talking about military. “Missiles and drones are being fired into Ukrainian cities for no apparent reason,” Trump said on Truth Social. According to Trump, Putin is “Absolutely Crazy” as Russia escalates its assault on Ukraine.

“I’ve consistently said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s showing to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!” added he.

Trump had previously professed appreciation for Putin, but in recent weeks he has grown increasingly frustrated with Moscow’s attitude in the stalemate peace discussions with Kyiv. Earlier, the US president gave a rare reprimand to Putin, saying he was “not happy” with him after Moscow fired a record number of drones on Ukraine, killing 13 people.

“I am not pleased with what Putin is doing. “He’s killing a lot of people, and I have no idea what the hell happened to Putin,” Trump remarked on the runway at Morristown Airport before boarding Air Force One heading for Washington.

“I’ve known him a long time, always gotten along with him, but he’s sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all.”

Donald Trump blasts Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky, his Ukrainian equivalent, was also criticized by the US president for “talking the way he does.”

“Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop,” he stated to me.

Trump reaffirmed his claim that if he had been President of the United States at the time, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine would not have begun.

Russia intensifies its attacks on Ukraine.

In the midst of the greatest prisoner exchange since Moscow’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia unleashed airstrikes on Ukraine, returning 1,000 captured soldiers and civilian prisoners on both sides. The latest Russian strikes in the northwest region of Zhytomyr killed a seventeen-year-old and two children, ages eight and twelve, officials said.

On social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “This brutality cannot be stopped without truly strong pressure on the Russian leadership.”

Responding to a question on the Morristown tarmac, Trump said he was “absolutely” thinking about lifting US sanctions on Russia in view of the recent developments.

“He’s taking a lot of lives. I have no idea what’s wrong with him. So, what the hell happened to him? He is responsible for a large number of deaths. “I’m not pleased with that,” remarked the US president.

Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Congress that Trump thought “right now, if you start threatening sanctions, the Russians will stop talking.” That statement ran counter to that declaration.

Trump and Putin spoke for two hours on Monday, following which the US president announced that Moscow and Kyiv would “immediately begin negotiations toward a ceasefire.”

Putin has made no pledge to halt his three-year invasion of Ukraine, instead offering a vague plan to work on a “memorandum” articulating Moscow’s conditions for peace.
