About Ukraine’s stance on Crimea, Donald Trump said, “Zelenskyy can choose peace or fight for three more years and lose the entire country.”

US President Donald Trump attacked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s stance on Crimea. He claimed Zelenskyy’s incendiary words had made it difficult to resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict. An angry Trump threatened Zelenskyy that the dispute would last a long time.

US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth, “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy boasted on the front page of The Wall Street Journal that Ukraine will not officially accept the takeover of Crimea. There’s nothing to discuss here. This comment is extremely detrimental to the Peace Negotiations with Russia because Crimea was lost years ago under President Barack Hussein Obama’s watch and is no longer a topic of debate.

Nobody is pushing Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian territory, but if he does, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago, when it was handed over to Russia without a shot fired? For many years before to “the Obama handover,” the area was home to large Russian submarine bases. Inflammatory words like Zelenskyy’s make it so impossible to end this war. He has nothing to boast about! The situation in Ukraine is dire: he can have peace or battle for another three years before losing the entire country.

I have nothing to do with Russia, but I do have a strong desire to save over 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers who are dying for no apparent cause each week. Zelenskyy’s statement today will just extend the “killing field,” which nobody wants! We’re really close to a deal, but the man with “no cards to play” should finally get it.

Zelenskyy told X

On Sunday (local time), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recommended a 30-day moratorium on long-range drone and missile strikes on civilian infrastructure, noting that the Russian military did not execute any air strikes during the Easter ceasefire despite committing over 2,000 other violations.

Accusing Russia of continuing its ground offensive despite declaring a ceasefire on Easter, Zelenskyy voiced hope for a break in air strikes, saying that this format is “easiest to extend.”

“Since the beginning of the day, the Russian army has violated Putin’s ceasefire more than two thousand times,” Zelenskyy told X.

“However, there were no air raid warnings today. As a result, this is a successful cease-fire framework that is easy to extend. Ukraine wants to halt any strikes on civilian infrastructure with long-range drones and missiles for at least 30 days, with the possibility of an extension,” he said.

Zelanskyy stated that if Russia refuses this step, its only purpose is to “destroy human lives and prolong the war.”

“If Russia does not agree to such a step, it will be proof that it intends to continue doing only those things which destroy human lives and prolong the war,” according to him.

Furthermore, Zelenskyy detailed the reported 2,000 incidents of violence, including 1,355 incidences of Russian shelling, 67 acts of assault, and the use of FPVs.
