US : An “Iranian asset” has been indicted in connection with an alleged plot by Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) to assassinate Donald Trump, the US president-elect who has already survived two attempts on his life. The Republican leader, who is expected to come back to the White House in January, received a bullet in the ear during a planned assassination attempt in July.
Farhad Shakeri, according to the Justice Department, is a “Iranian asset” who was tasked by the Iranian regime on October 7 to arrange Trump’s assassination. According to an official statement, Shakeri, 51, told law authorities that he did not mean to submit a plot to kill Trump within the timeframe specified by the IRGC.

“The Department of Justice, annually has charged a member of the Iranian regime who had been given the task by law enforcement authorities to direct an organization to act as criminal partners to further Iran’s assassination plots against its targets, including President-elect Donald Trump,” reported Merrick B. Garland, the attorney general.

The USA considers the IRGC to be a terrorist organization.
According to FBI director Christopher Wray, the charges show that Iran continues to target US citizens, including President Trump and other politicians and government officials who criticize the Iranian regime. “The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has been plotting with gangsters and hitmen to track down and shoot down Americans on US soil and that clearly won’t be tolerated,” a spokesperson for the government stated.
According to the affidavit, Shakeri came to the USA as a child and received deportation in 2008 after being convicted of robbery.Prosecutors believe Shakeri is currently in Iran.
Shakeri, identified as an Afghan national in the criminal complaint filed against him, has also been charged with hiring two men in New York whom he met in prison to shoot a US citizen of Iranian ancestry who had publicly denounced the Iranian regime. Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt, two New York citizens, have also been charged in connection with the alleged murder plan.
