Oscars : The continuing wildfire in Los Angeles, which is swiftly moving over Southern California, has burned thousands of acres of property and destroyed multiple homes. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended the deadline for voting on Oscar nominations. The voting for over 10,000 Academy members began on January 8 and is slated to end on January 12. The deadline has been extended by two days, and it will now shut on January 14.
Not only that, but the selection announcement, which was initially slated for January 17, has been postponed to January 19. On Wednesday, CEO Bill Kramer wrote an email to members informing them of the date adjustments.
