Monalisa : Sanoj Mishra, the director who offered a film to viral teenager Monalisa at the Maha Kumbh Mela, was arrested on Monday for rape. The arrest took place after his bail was denied by the Delhi High Court. He is accused of repeatedly raping a girl from a tiny village who aspired to be a heroine. Nabi Karim police made the arrest.

The victim claims she met Sanoj Mishra in 2020 through TikTok and Instagram. She lived in Jhansi back then. The two spoke for a while until the director contacted her on June 17, 2021, to inform her that he had arrived at Jhansi railway station. When the victim declined to meet due to social pressure, the accused Sanoj Mishra threatened to commit suicide. The victim then went to meet him out of dread. The accused called her again the next day, June 18, 2021, and threatened her with suicide before taking her to the railway station.

According to the FIR, the victim claimed that the accused took unpleasant photos and videos of her and threatened to make them public if she protested. Following that, he called her to various locations under the guise of marriage and had physical intercourse with her. He also persuaded her to work in the film industry.
