Tahira Kashyap, a filmmaker and author who recently revealed that her breast cancer has relapsed, has now opened out about her current treatment experience during a recent hospital visit.

She took to Instagram on Friday to share her pre- and post-medical treatment experiences. Tahira claimed that as she prepared for her scanning and imaging session, her doctor tried to lighten the situation by playing a Bollywood classic, but the song choice shocked her.
“As I approached the scanning and imaging area, the doctor there, possibly in an attempt to lighten the situation, was playing his playlist. This was the tune that played while I lay down, waiting to be brought inside! I gulped and replied, “Sir, I appreciate your gesture, but please isse toh band hi kardo!”

Tahira Kashyap found inspiration
Despite the difficult beginning, Tahira found laughter and inspiration in another occasion that day. While strolling down the hospital corridor after the procedure, she overheard a lighthearted chat that made her smile.
“A few hours after the procedure, the doctor instructed me to walk around the corridor. Little did I know that I’d be privy to other patients’ news consumption preferences. This 70-year-old lady, her room door ajar, was intently listening to an actor’s love life and the details of his most recent relationship. A few minutes later, I noticed her stumbling out of her room, sprinting ahead of me. I swear I heard her remark, ‘Agar yeh itna dangal macha sakten hain, toh main kyon nahi!’ I’ve always understood the power of cinema, both on and off screen!”
Tahira had previously stated on April 7 that she was preparing to battle cancer again.
She wrote: “Seven-year itch or the power of routine screening–it’s a perspective.” I’d want to go with the latter and recommend it to everyone who needs frequent mammograms. Round two for me… I still have this.”
Tahira was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.
