Ameesha Patel Makes Having fun of the Director of Gadar 2: “Even if paid Rs 100 Cr, I Would Never Play Mother-in-Law.”

Ameesha Patel, famous for her role as Sakina in the Gadar franchise, has sparked debate online with her outspoken views on movie roles.

In response to Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma’s suggestion that she embrace character evolution by playing a mother-in-law, the actress made it clear that she has no plans to accept such roles, regardless of the paycheck.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Anil Sharma stated that Patel was hesitant to play a mother-in-law on screen in Gadar 2. He provided famous actress Nargis Dutt, who played a mother in Mother India at a young age, as an example of accepting hard roles. Patel, on the other hand, used X (previously Twitter) to clear the air. She tweeted, along with a screenshot of the statements, “Dear @Anilsharma_dir dear Anilji. This is simply a fiction, not a family’s real life, therefore on screen, I have a say in what I do and do not do, but I will never portray a mother-in-law in Gadar or any other film, even if paid 100 crores.”

Ameesha Patel expressed the opinion

The actress further expressed the opinion that people value the Gadar franchise since it portrays Tara (Sunny Deol) and Sakina as heroic figures. “The supporters do not want to see Tara Sakina as father-in-law and mother-in-law; they enjoy their Tara being a hero and a superhero only,” she told me.

Despite not agreeing with Sharma’s point of view, Patel expressed her admiration for him and best wishes for his current film Vanvaas, starring Nana Patekar, Simrat Kaur, and Utkarsh Sharma.
