Benefits, Duration, and Eligibility for WHO Internships

WHO Internships : The World Health Organisation, part of the United Nations, handles worldwide public health issues. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It provides internships to students in administrative and technical fields such as human resources, interaction, and relationships with the outside world.

The World Health Organization’s official portal states: “All proposals must be made through the summer internship recruit notices posted on the WHO Jobs site using the WHO online application procedure (Stellis).” There is no way to apply for a position at WHO other than through Stellis. The FAQs section contains further information regarding the application process. Internship opportunities exist in a variety of fields and organisational settings (regional offices, country offices, and headquarters).

WHO Internships : eligibility requirements

  • Applicants must be at least twenty years old at the time of registration.
  • Participants must have finished at least three years of continuous enrolment in an educational institution (undergraduate, graduate, or graduate school) in public health, medical, social, or related fields. They must also be fluent in at least one working language in the given office.
  • Applicants should not have a direct intimate connection with a WHO staff member.
  • A passport that is current from a WHO Member Country is necessary.
  • Participants must not have already participated in the WHO internship program.

WHO Internships Program: Benefits

  • The intern is responsible for travel and pre/post-internship coverage.
  • Living allowance is offered to qualifying interns in need of financial support.
  • Lunch vouchers may be provided at some duty stations.

WHO Internships Program: Duration

Interns must work full-time for a least of six weeks and a maximum of 24 weeks, depending on WHO’s requirements.
