According to Report, the Indian Railways is preparing to execute a trial run of a new Vande Bharat Express train between Jammu and Srinagar, which will significantly improve regional connectivity and tourism.
Once the trial run is completed, this semi-high-speed train will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) and Srinagar, with the potential to change regional travel.
It should be mentioned that the Vande Bharat Express now runs 136 services across the country, and the new Jammu-Srinagar route is projected to boost tourism in the Kashmir Valley and contribute to the region’s economic development.

The Indian Railways stated that the trial run is a key step before the service’s commercial introduction. According to one railway official, immediately before the Vande Bharat Express train between Jammu and Srinagar is launched, a trial run between Katra and Srinagar will be done to test the train’s many safety features.
The Northern Railway’s Jammu Division will operate the new Vande Bharat Express train, and the trial run will aid in assessing numerous technical aspects of the train’s performance on the region’s tough terrain.

Once commercial services begin, the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat train is anticipated to make stops at major stations including as Reasi, Sangaldan, Banihal, Qazigund, Anantnag, and Avantipora. However, the Railway Board (RB) will determine the final stoppages.
Jammu-Srinagar new Vande Bharat Express : Check the speed restriction
The Jammu to Srinagar Vande Bharat train was designed by the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and is capable of reaching a maximum operational speed of 160 kmph.
Last week , the Northern Circle Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) approved the opening of the newly constructed Broad Gauge (BG) route between Katra and Reasi.

After commercial operation begins, the Vande Bharat Express train between Katra and Srinagar will travel around 190 kilometres in 3 hours. The new train is scheduled to depart from SVDK at 08:10 hrs and arrive at 11:20 hrs. While returning, the Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express train will leave Srinagar at 12:45 p.m. and arrive at SVDK at 15:55 p.m.
