School Holiday : There is best news for students. Following the rush on Mauni Amavasya during the Maha Kumbh, numerous districts, including Ayodhya and Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, announced a holiday in their schools.
Aside from that, due to the increasing cold and fog in Deoria district, District Magistrate Divya Mittal has modified the schedule of all schools up to class 8 (Basic Education, CBSE, and ICSE) until January 31. All schools will open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Holiday proclaimed in schools in these districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Mirzapur: All schools, from pre-primary to class twelve, have been closed until February 1. Schools can provide online classes as needed. Pre-scheduled and practical exams will continue as usual during this period.
Jaunpur: All schools have declared a holiday in preparation for the Kumbh Snan festival on January 30, 2025. The District Magistrate ordered this decision. This holiday should be applied to every educational institution.

Varanasi: All schools from grades one to twelve will offer online sessions until February 5. Until February 5, only instructors and staff will be present at school. This order was given by Arvind Pathak, the Basic Education Officer.
Ayodhya’s DM Chandra Vijay Singh has also directed that all schools remain closed until February 5. This order will apply to all schools in the extended bounds of the Municipal Corporation of Ayodhya’s Dham region and Vikaskhand Pura, including council, government, recognised, aided, and private schools from pre-primary to class 12th.
Ghazipur: Schools from grades 1 to 12 will be closed on January 30th, per DM Aryaka Akhouri’s directions. A letter has been issued to close all primary, upper primary, high school, and intermediate government and private schools. If any new schools open, action will be taken against them.

Prayagraj: All schools up to grade 8 will be closed until February 3. All city-operated schools from grades one through eight will remain closed.
School Holiday closed in February here ?
- Schools will stay closed in February owing to festivals and weekly holidays. Many states will have a school holiday on February 2nd in honour of Basant Panchami.
- Schools in Maharashtra and other states may remain closed on February 19th in honour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
- Schools may remain closed on February 24 in honour of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the Bhakti movement’s guru and poet.
- Schools may remain closed on February 26 owing to Mahashivratri. Aside from that, schools will be closed on January 2, 9, 16, and 23 in February owing to Sunday.
- All schools in Jammu and Kashmir up to class 5 will be closed beginning December 10, 2024, and continuing until February 28, 2025. Schools from grades 6 through 12 are closed beginning December 16, 2024, and will stay closed until February 28, 2025; as a result, schools will now open only in March.
