PM Kisan: Beneficiary farmers are awaiting the 19th installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) plan. According to the source, this installment will be released in February 2025. The 18th installment was released last month on October 5, 2024, and a total of Rs 20,000 crore was transferred in the bank accounts of around 9.4 crore farmers. Earlier, on his June 2024 visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 17th installment. At the time, the Prime Minister distributed Rs 21,000 crore to 9.26 crore farmers. The 16th installment was published in February 2024.
What is the PM Kisan Yojana?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, qualifying farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 per year. This sum is given in three installments: April-July, August-November, and December-March. The scheme’s benefits are deposited straight to the benefiting farmers’ bank accounts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the plan, which was announced in the 2019 interim budget by then-Finance Minister Piyush Goyal. Today, it is the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.

e-KYC is required in PM. The Kisan Yojana
Farmers must complete e-KYC before receiving installments under the plan. According to the scheme’s official website, eKYC is required for all registered farmers under PM Kisan. OTP-based eKYC is available on the PM Kisan portal, while biometric-based eKYC can be completed at your nearest CSC facility.
