New Delhi : On Saturday, a stampede-like situation was observed at the New Delhi railway station. Preliminary reports indicate a stampede on platforms 14 and 15. At least 15 people were hurt, and some passengers were rescued while unconscious. The development happens when a large crowd arrives at New Delhi Railway Station for Mahakumbh. The majority of these passengers were those who did not have confirmed train tickets. According to the railways, the situation is currently under control.

According to sources, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will soon arrive at Delhi Railway Station and would pay visits to the injured in various hospitals. Other top Indian Railways officials also visited New Delhi Railway Station to assess the situation.
It should be noted that two Kumbh Special trains are now running based on passenger demand. The incident was reported when a huge group of devotees unexpectedly arrived at the station to travel to Prayagraj.
