Pahalgam attack :According to sources, terrorists scouted 3 other J&K sites before to the Pahalgam attack

According to sources, the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which killed 26 people, were in the Baisaran Valley two days before the atrocity. The information was revealed during an interrogation of one of the arrested Over Ground Workers (OGWs) connected to the incident .

Pahalgam attack : Terrorists arrived in Pahalgam on April 15 .

According to senior officials familiar with the investigation, the terrorists arrived in Pahalgam on April 15 and performed reconnaissance of at least four areas, including the gorgeous Baisaran Valley. The other three potential targets were Aru Valley, the local amusement park, and Betaab Valley, all of which were under terrorist monitoring. According to sources, increased security measures in certain areas discouraged terrorists from carrying out attacks there.

NIA , which is leading the investigation, has identified roughly 20 OGWs who are alleged to have assisted the foreign extremists. Several of them have been jailed, while others are being closely monitored.

According to intelligence sources, at least four OGWs were critical in providing terrorists with reconnaissance and logistical support. There has also been evidence of the use of three satellite phones in the region during the pre-attack phase. Signals from two of these devices have been traced successfully.

So far, the NIA and intelligence services have questioned approximately 2,500 people in connection with the assault. As of present, 186 people are in jail for additional interrogation, showing the scope of the probe.

Following the attack, a concerted raid was launched across Jammu & Kashmir. Multiple places, including Kupwara, Handwara, Anantnag, Tral, Pulwama, Sopore, Baramulla, and Bandipora, were searched for homes associated to members and sympathizers of banned organizations like as various Hurriyat Conference groups and Jamaat-e-Islami.

According to NIA sources

According to NIA sources, despite their proscription status, these organizations aided the formation of a support network that enabled Pakistani terrorists to organize and carry out the Pahalgam massacre.

Call records of people associated with these groups are currently being investigated. Investigators discovered communication linkages between members of these groups and the OGWs implicated in the Pahalgam incident.
