As previously stated, the Speed Triple 1200 RS does not provide an upright riding posture; rather, it bends into form to accommodate superior specifications. The Speed Triple 1200 RS is still powered by a 1,160 cc inline three-cylinder engine. Triumph claims it’s tuned to produce 180 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 127 Nm of torque at 8,750 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter delivers power to the wheels.

The suspension system is made up of the Ohlins SmartEC3 electronic semi-active suspension from the RS model and the Ohlins SD EC electronic steering damper. The braking system employs the same dual Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers and MCS radial master cylinder, as well as a cornering antilock brake system.

There are five riding modes available: Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and Rider, as well as cornering traction control, front wheel lift control, engine braking control, cruise control. In Track Mode, the rider can use rake slide assist, which modifies the ABS to allow for more front wheel slip and rear wheel lift.
