Toyota Camry Premium Sedan Confirmed to Launch in India Next Year

Toyota Camry was originally offered to the Indian market in 2002. While it continues to be a low-volume car it has been a steady feature of Toyota’s Indian lineup. According to recent sources, the automaker is getting ready to debut the next-generation Toyota Camry in early 2025.

The all-new Toyota Camry is planned to be introduced at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 and, like the previous model, will be manufactured in India. In terms of powertrain, the 2019 Camry will only be available with a powerful hybrid engine. Backseat comfort, dependability, and fuel efficiency will remain some of its most appealing features.

Toyota Camry appearance

The new Toyota Camry design is based on the model that came before it.It’s significantly longer, but the wheelbase stays the same. Styling appears to be inspired by Lexus, with a dramatic, anvil-shaped front and a layered design at the bottom. The large brackets on each side enhance the car’s feeling of width.

The new Camry also boasts a sleek, compact grille that connects one headlight to next. The headlights now appear more compact, and the LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) offer a lot of flair. The sides have more sharp design lines, and the big tail-lamps at the back have been replaced with sleek ‘C’-shaped units.

Inside the new Toyota Camry

The next-generation Toyota Camry is popular, particularly as a chauffeur-driven vehicle, due to its emphasis on rear seat comfort. The rear seats can recline and feature ventilation and blind controls. Because the battery is located at the front, the boot capacity remains large at 427 liters with no loss.

The cabin layout is cleaner and more classy. Subtle chrome elements enhance the two-tone interior, and a bigger screen now supports wireless Apple CarPlay. The car also includes ADAS capabilities such as dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed reduction, pre-collision braking, and lane departure warning with steering aid. There is also a safe exit aid feature and an optional factory-installed dash cam.

Engine Specifications for the New Toyota Camry

The new Camry has similar technical components under the hood but produces greater power, with a combined 227 horsepower from the engine and strong-hybrid powertrain. It is also more fuel-efficient, with a claimed 25 kmpl, up from 19.1 kmpl in the current model. This increase in both performance and efficiency could result in real-world fuel economy of more than 20 kmpl under Indian conditions.

Price of the New Toyota Camry

In India, the new-generation Toyota Camry is estimated to cost Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom).
