Tata Motors expands its EV line with Harrier EV and Sierra EV

While the business recently increased its electric vehicle line with the launch of the Curvv EV in September of this year, Tata Motors now plans to enter the premium EV market with two new models, the Harrier EV and the Sierra EV. The Tata Harrier EV will make its premiere at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, competing against the recently unveiled Mahindra XEV 9e.

The Tata Harrier EV will be one of ten electric vehicles introduced by Tata Motors before the end of 2025. Tata Motors has already shown an unveiled version of the Harrier EV, and the production version is expected to keep the same look. Expect the majority of the design cues from the ICE-powered Tata Harrier to be carried over to the future electric SUV. However, because it is an electric vehicle, it will have some significant alterations, including a closed panel in lieu of the radiator grille, a new set of alloy wheels, updated front and rear bumpers, and, of course, no exhaust muzzle at the rear.
The Tata Harrier EV will have a number of new design elements inside the cabin when compared to the SUV’s ICE variant. However, there would also be some commonalities. The electric SUV would include a huge touchscreen entertainment system, the automaker’s modern steering wheel with a backlit display, and the brand emblem. Other prominent features include a 360-degree surround-view camera, automated climate control, panoramic sunroof, air purifier, and more.

Meanwhile, the Tata Sierra EV is set to launch in the second part of 2025. The Sierra Electric Vehicle’s design has already been patented in India. The Sierra EV will be accessible in India as a 5-door variant, whereas the original Sierra was only available as a 3-door.
The Tata Sierra EV is likely to have the famous boxy form of the original Sierra, but with a modern twist. The concept EV has a sleek LED strip down the nose that runs the width of the car.The front bumper has been drastically redesigned, with larger black panels than previously. The centre features a more typical LED-backlit brand logo.
The Tata Sierra EV proposal also alluded to a huge skid plate. The alloy wheels have already found their way to the new Tata Safari, so the production version of the Sierra may utilise a different set of alloys. Tata Motors is also likely to release an ICE-powered version shortly after the EV variant is launched.
