Rajasthan government will create a ₹200 crore e-vehicle promotion fund as part of its Electric Vehicle Policy-2022 to promote electric mobility in the state.
The project, which is consistent with the FAME-2 (Faster use and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) standards, seeks to encourage the use of electric vehicles (EVs) by providing State GST rebates and one-time subsidies to buyers of EVs equipped with modern battery technology.

To be eligible for the subsidy, car manufacturers registered under FAME-2 must first register on the state’s transport department webpage, according to Joint Transport Commissioner Jagdish Prasad Bairwa. Once registered, manufacturers must submit information about their EV models, such as battery type and capacity, in accordance with FAME-2 standards.

The section of transportation will then validate the details submitted before allowing buyers to apply for subsidies via the Vahan portal. To claim the subsidy, owners of vehicles must enter the last five digits of their vehicle registration and chassis number on the portal, verify their identity using an online password sent to their registered mobile number, and upload their banking information and supporting paperwork (e.g., passbook front page or cancelled cheque). Then submit an application for approval.
Once verified, the subsidy will be sent directly to the vehicle owner’s bank account. It’s worth noting that incentives are only available for a certain number of automobiles per category. Vehicle makers, dealers, and purchasers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to take advantage of the incentives offered by this program.
