Frankfurt : Following a bomb threat, a Vistara flight from Delhi to London was forced to make an emergency landing in Frankfurt on Friday. The flight landed safely at Frankfurt Airport, where necessary security checks were carried out. After gaining permission from the authorities, the flight continued to its destination.

“Vistara flight UK17 from Delhi to London on October 18, 2024, got a security threat over social media. All relevant authorities were immediately notified in accordance with protocol, and the pilots chose to divert the flight to Frankfurt as a precaution,” according to the statement.
“Flight UK17 which was transferred to Frankfurt flew departing Frankfurt at 2332 LT and will be scheduled to finally arrive in London at 2330 LT,” it reportedly adds.
Due to an informed source, the airplane had received a bomb threat.
The Boeing 787 arrived at Frankfurt around 9.02 p.m.
According to flight monitoring services, the Boeing 787 landed in Frankfurt at 9.02 p.m. (local time). It took off 2.5 hours later and landed at 11.32 p.m. (all times are local).
Meanwhile, Akasa Air reported that its flight QP 1366, which had been scheduled to fly from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday, generated a security alert shortly before departure. “As a result, all passengers had to be deplaned in accordance with safety and security measures, which were followed by the local authorities. We ask for your patience because our team on the ground tried everything necessary to minimize disruption,” the airline said in a statement on X.
In recent days, approximately 40 planes operated by Indian carriers have received bomb threats, which later proved to be hoaxes.
The Civil Aviation Ministry intends to implement severe regulations to prevent occurrences of false warnings about bombs to airlines, including placing those responsible on the no-fly list.
