BMW R 1300 GS Adventure : BMW Motorrad has introduced its flagship adventure motorcycle, the R 1300 GS Adventure, to the Indian market. The starting price for the bike is Rs 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The large bike was released alongside the brand’s performance-oriented S 1000 RR. It is equipped with a flat twin boxer engine to support its talents.

The bike has a unique design with a boxy-looking tank and a unique projector headlamp, which is matched with a windscreen. The massive-looking bike’s appearance is matched by the availability of different paint schemes. Specifically, the Basic variation is available in Racing Red paintwork. Optional styles include Triple Black is available in Blackstorm metallic paintwork, GS Trophy in Racing Blue metallic paintwork, and 719 Karakorum in Aurelius Green matte metallic paintwork.
The latest version of the R 1300 GS Adventure has a 1,300 cc boxer-twin engine that produces 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. For the first time, BMW Motorrad will offer the R 1300 GSA with an optional auto shift assistant (ASA), a semi-automatic gearbox. Riders will be able to select between a manual setting and an automatic driving option, in which the motorcycle’s electronics aid with gear transitions.

The R 1300 GSA has a sheet metal frame and a rear subframe made of aluminium lattice tubes. It has Evo Telelever suspension up front and Paralever suspension in the back. In addition, dynamic suspension adjustment (DSA) and adaptive vehicle height control are offered as options.
The R 1300 GSA comes with cross-spoked aluminium wheels, however lighter enduro forged wheels, weighing 2 kg less, are also available. The front wheel is 19 inches, while the rear wheel measures 17 inches, comparable to the R 1300 GS. The ADV has dual 310 mm discs at the front with four-piston radial callipers and a single 285 mm disc at the back with a single-piston calliper.
