Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG is now available at a cost cut of up to ₹ 10,000, but there’s an additional catch

Bajaj Freedom 125 : In July 2024, Bajaj Auto became the world’s first company to bring a CNG-powered bike into the Indian market. The Freedom 125 has become even more inexpensive than before, thanks to its design to decrease operating expenses while also providing a relatively environmentally friendly fuel option. Five months after its launch, the Indian manufacturer has announced a price reduction for the world’s first CNG-powered bike. The price has dropped by up to ₹10,000 depending on the variation.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is currently priced at ₹ 89,997 (ex-showroom), around ₹ 5,000 less than when it was first launched. The mid-level edition of the bike now costs ₹ 95,002 (ex-showroom), a ₹ 10,000 drop from its original pricing. The bike’s most expensive variant stays unchanged, priced at ₹ 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

According to Bajaj Auto, the top model of the bike accounts for 72 percent of total Freedom 125 sales. Meanwhile, the most basic version of the bike accounts for 13% of total sales. According to the data provided, the OEM had delivered 67,000 units of the bike to dealers as of November 30, 2024. At the exact same time, the bike’s real sales total 40,000 units.

According to speculation, Bajaj Auto has dropped the bike’s costs in order to clear out the current year’s inventory before the new year begins.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is powered by a 125 cc petrol engine that can alternatively run on compressed natural gas. This is a 124 cc air-cooled engine that generates 9.4 horsepower and 9.7 Nm peak torque. The bike’s fuel is stored in a 2-liter petrol tank and a 2-liter CNG cylinder.
