Himanshi Narwal, the wife of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal who was killed in the recent Pahalgam terror attack, has gotten assistance from the National Commission for Women (NCW). The Commission stated that attacking or trolling a woman based on her personal beliefs or ideological declarations is unjust and immoral.

Following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in south Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, most of them tourists, Himanshi Narwal urged people not to hate Muslims and Kashmiris.

In a statement on X, the NCW criticized the online harassment she has received.
“The way his wife Himanshi Narwal is being criticized on social media in relation to one of her statements after the death of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal is regrettable,” the NCW said in reaction to the harsh social media criticism of her remarks.
The panel stated that, while Himanshi’s statements may not have resonated with many, voicing disagreement must adhere to “constitutional limits” and peaceful conversation.
Although the nation is “hurt and angry” by the terror act, the NCW encouraged caution when attacking Himanshi Narwal, saying, “It is not right to troll a woman on the basis of her ideological expression or personal life.”
Additionally, the panel urged constructive and polite statements even during times of national sadness and reminded individuals that “the dignity and respect of every woman is valuable.”
