With his 62-run hammer, Faf surpassed MS Dhoni to become the third-oldest player to score fifty or more in the tournament’s history.
Narine began tearing everything apart, and the Capitals lost their way. Narine changed the tide in his second spell, after allowing 19 runs in his opening two overs without a wicket. Axar and Faf put on a 76-run stand to help DC reach 136/3. With 69 runs required from 41 balls, six wickets in hand, and a set partnership at the crease, it was DC’s game to lose, and they did exactly that.

Narine removed Axar caught at extra cover before bowling Tristan Stubbs in his following over. With Faf out of partners and the needed rate increasing, he delivered a body blow by dismissing the South African for 62 in the 16th over. Vipraj tried his luck, but DC came short.
KKR reached 204 everyone’s contributions
KKR has previously reached a high of 204 thanks to everyone’s contributions. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was the leading scorer with 44, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Narine had a solid start. Rinku Singh seized charge in the middle overs, scoring 36 as KKR finished on 204.
The Knight Riders are still in the running for a playoff position. They have four victories from ten matches and are ranked seventh in the IPL 2025 standings
