RP Singh : After Congress’ ‘PM Gayab’ remark, the BJP’s ‘Pakistan Ka Yaar’ taunt .

RP Singh: The Congress began Monday night with a ‘gayab’ left hook, an X post that appeared to designate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’missing in action’ as India dealt with the Pahalgam terror assault.

The BJP, shocked but not defeated, retaliated with a ‘backstabber’ right jab on Tuesday evening. The party accused Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi of ‘betraying’ his country by cooperating with Pakistan, which the government claims aided the terror attack that killed 26 people.

RP Singh publishing a photo

RP Singh, the ruling party’s national spokesperson, responded by publishing a photo of a man wearing a tight-fitting white t-shirt and black trousers, as well as a Nehru cap.

The man is facing the opposite direction from the camera. His right hand is clenched behind his back, holding a huge knife.

The caption says ‘Pakistan’s friend’.

The individual is not named, but the clothes and context indicate that he is referring to Rahul Gandhi.

The ‘Pakistan’s yaar’ remark highlighted the BJP’s attempt to accuse the Congress of ‘conspiring’ to get support from Muslim voters by undermining Prime Minister Modi and his government. Gaurav Bhatia, BJP National Spokesperson, emphasized this point by describing to it as the ‘Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress’.

The taunt was clear: The Resistance Front, a proxy for the banned Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed credit for the Pahalgam terror attack.

However, the fight is far from done; Congress will be rattled as well, but expect a response soon.

Behind it all, the message is plain. The informal truce that followed the terror assault in Pahalgam, which was emphasized last week by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, who warned party leaders that “this is not the time for politics… it is a moment for collective resolve,” has ended.

The Congress launched this picture war late Monday by sharing an old photo of Prime Minister Modi in a yellow kurta, white pajama, and black shoes, but with the PM removed.

The snapshot was accompanied by the short message: ‘In times of need, missing’.

The post was interpreted as a reference to allegations that Mr Modi skipped the all-party meeting called by his government last week to brief the opposition on the Pahalgam incident and India’s response.

Mr Kharge stated

Mr Kharge stated that he raised the issue of the absent PM, telling reporters following the meeting, “The first question I raised… when the government convenes a meeting, the PM should be present…”

Instead, the Prime Minister was at a government event in poll-bound Bihar, from which he issued a warning – in English, to maximise publicity – to all terrorists involved in the attack.

The BJP unleashed a multi-pronged rebuttal to the Congress photo, accusing the party of conspiring with Pakistan and employing underhanded tactics instructed by senior leader Rahul Gandhi.

Anurag Thakur statement

Ex-Union Minister Anurag Thakur recalled the Prime Minister’s forceful statement – ‘if you (Pak) spill one drop of our blood, we won’t let a single drop of water (from the Indus River) flow’ – and cited the Indian government’s severe steps, such as the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.

The Congress’s usage of “Sar Tan Se Juda” imagery leaves little room for debate. This is more than just a political statement; it is a dog whistle to its Muslim voting base and a disguised provocation against the Prime Minister. The Congress has used such tactics before.

However, I do not understand why the Congress and other opposition parties feel compelled to speak Pakistani and promote Pakistan. Doesn’t their blood boil when Indians are killed? Don’t they want to exact revenge?”

BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya accused the Congress of political scheming, describing the X post as “a dog whistle aimed at its Muslim vote bank and a veiled incitement against the PM.”

Pahalgam Terrorist Attack
Twenty-six individuals were killed in the Pahalgam terror assault on April 22nd.

The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the banned Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility, but the five terrorists who carried out the act are still at large.

A major manhunt is underway to locate them.

Meanwhile, in the first set of answers, India and Pakistan traded diplomatic limitations, including visa suspensions, for bilateral agreements such as the Simla Agreement and the Indus Waters Treaty.

The Prime Minister, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time of the assault and flew back 24 hours later, avoiding Pakistani airspace, has stated that terror’s terrible aim will not be allowed to succeed.
