On Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that Modi will inaugurate the Pune Metro portion from the district court to Swargate, marking the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1).

Modi will lay the cornerstone for the Pune Metro Phase 1 upgrade from Swargate to Katraj, which will require approximately Rs 2,955 crore to build. According to the PMO, this 5.46-kilometer southern extension is totally subterranean and has three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.
The prime minister will also launch the Bidkin Industrial Area, a transformative project spanning 7,855 acres under the Center’s National Industrial Corridor Development Strategy.
The infrastructure initiative established under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor has enormous potential as a thriving economic hub in Marathwada region. According to the PMO, the Centre has sanctioned it for construction across three phases at a total cost of more than Rs 6,400 crore.
Modi will also launch the Solapur airport. It will greatly enhance connectivity, making Solapur more accessible to tourists, business travelers, and investors.
According to the PMO, the airport’s existing terminal building has been renovated to accommodate around 4.1 lakh people per year.
The prime minister was scheduled to announce the majority of these projects from Pune, the poll-bound state, a few days ago, but his visit was canceled due to heavy rains.
Modi would also establish Bidkin Industries Zone
Modi will additionally launch the Bidkin Industrial Area, a 7,855-acre project under the National Industry Corridor Development Programme. The initiative, located along the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, intends to build an industrial powerhouse in the Marathwada region. The whole approved project cost exceeds ₹6,400 crore and will be finished in three phases.
The Prime Minister will additionally open Solapur Airport, which is expected to greatly increase regional connectivity. The refurbished terminal will handle roughly 4.1 lakh people per year, improving the city’s accessibility for tourists, business travelers, and investors.
